Art of the Rail is RocketWerkz's take on the classic transport tycoon formula. You lay roads, rails, tunnels and bridges, plan vehicle routes for profit, and upgrade stations and depots with bays and cargo yards. Meeting a town's economic demand makes that part of the world grow, so the map develops around the network you build. Terrain can be reshaped to suit your lines, and multiplayer supports up to 16 other players either working together on one network or competing for the same freight.

Tycoon games are played in long stretches, and a network that took a weekend to plan should not disappear because the host closed the game. Art of the Rail was designed with dedicated servers in mind, so a hosted world lets a group log in whenever suits them and pick up their routes exactly where they left off. Art of the Rail is coming to Steam for Windows in Early Access. The game is fully moddable, with a built in asset editor and core game data authored using the same tools modders get, so new buildings, vehicles and assets can be added by the community. Worlds can be generated procedurally at the click of a button or loaded from heightmap data, and custom maps and scenarios can be shared with other players.
