Battlefield 2142 is the futuristic combined-arms shooter DICE released in 2006, set in a new ice age where the European Union and the Pan Asian Coalition fight over the last habitable land. Up to 64 players battle on maps like Suez Canal, Fall of Berlin, Minsk and Sidi Power Plant with battle walkers, hover tanks, gunships and transports, and in Titan mode each side defends a flying fortress while trying to board and destroy the enemy's. Squads, a commander with orbital strikes and UAVs, and four soldier kits with unlocks made it a favourite, and its community still plays it every week.
A dedicated Battlefield 2142 server is how that community plays. It stays online around the clock with your own name, welcome message and map rotation, so your squad and regulars can join whenever they like. You choose Conquest, Titan, Assault Lines, No Vehicles or Co-op against bots, the maps and their order, the ticket count, respawn time and friendly fire, and whether players get their unlocks.
