Citadel
Citadel: Forged with Fire is an online sandbox RPG from Blue Isle Studios set on Ignus, a 36 square kilometre landmass of plains, dense forest, craggy mountains, swamp and frozen tundra. You start as an apprentice of the magic arts and work towards notoriety, picking a conduit from wands, staves, enchanted gauntlets and magically imbued axes, swords and hammers. Along the way you tame beasts with the Pacify spell, raid caves and ruins for artefacts, build castles and align with other players to form a House.
Houses are the reason a Citadel server needs to stay up. Members share a flag, a hierarchy, pooled resources and the castle they built together, and tamed creatures sit in that territory waiting for their owners to log back in. A dedicated server keeps all of it standing around the clock and hands the admin the levers that define the community: whether the world runs open PvP with raiding or a quieter PvE ruleset, how fast experience, harvesting and taming accrue, and how long the climb to top tier spellcasting actually takes.
