By default, the first driver who joins your Project CARS 2 server picks the race setup in the lobby. You can let the server control the setup instead, with one fixed race or a rotation that moves to the next race every time a race finishes.
Letting The Server Control The Setup
Turn on Server Controls Setup under Gameplay in Settings, then click Save & Restart. See Server Controls Setup for the steps.
Setting The Races
The race setups live in the built-in rotation addon's config file, which the server creates on its first start.
- 1Log in to Bropanel and
Stopyour server. - 2In the sidebar, go to
Filesand openlua_config/sms_rotate_config.json. - 3Under
default, set the session lengths, flags, damage, tyre wear, fuel, date and weather that every race uses. - 4Under
rotation, add one entry per race with itsTrackId, then save the file. Add aVehicleClassIdto limit a race to one car class, or aVehicleModelIdto make everyone drive the same car; leave both out to let drivers pick any car. Leaverotationempty ([]) to run the default setup only. - 5Start your server.
Tracks, classes and cars can be written by name instead of number. The file ships with example races and comments that explain every option, so copy the format of an example when you add your own. When a race finishes and everyone is back in the lobby, or everyone leaves, the server moves on to the next race in the list.
Note
Leave the version line at the top of the file as it is. The server keeps its place in the rotation across restarts; delete lua_config/sms_rotate_data.json while the server is stopped to start again from the first race.
Caution
Keep the quotes, colons and braces in place when you edit these files. If the server doesn't come back online after an edit, check the Console for the line it complains about.
