Over The Top: WWI is a large scale World War I shooter from Flying Squirrel Entertainment, the studio behind Holdfast: Nations At War. Battles run up to 200 players across France, Britain and Germany, each faction fielding eight classes from riflemen and engineers to flamethrower specialists and officers who call in artillery. Terrain is fully destructible, so shells carve new craters, fortifications collapse and sightlines change permanently as a round goes on, and the arsenal stretches from shovels and dynamite to aircraft and experimental tanks that seat a crew of ten.
Battles this size stand or fall on the server. A dedicated Over The Top: WWI server lets a regiment or community fix its own slot count, map rotation, season and time of day, and load battlegrounds built in the game's map editor rather than waiting for them to appear on public servers. You also keep control of admin access and the region your regulars connect from, which is the difference between a smooth 200 player push and a scrappy one.
