About
Reign and Ruin
Reign and Ruin is a multiplayer medieval survival game from Azimpur. You wash up on a strange shore with a driftwood club, then hunt, gather, refine materials, raise a settlement and forge arms and armour across forests, swamps, deserts, caverns and volcanic peaks. Its distinguishing idea is the crown: players compete to become King or Queen of the server, and whoever holds the title takes an automatic cut of every resource other players gather, along with the Elder Crown and the Ancient Godsword. Combat is skill based and playable in first or third person, with directional melee swings, stabs and overheads in the vein of Chivalry and Mordhau, plus ranged and magic options.
The king mechanic only makes sense on a server that belongs to a community, because the whole political layer depends on the same population returning to the same realm. Running your own Reign and Ruin server lets you decide how large that realm is, whether guilds are allowed to hold territory, how sieges and raiding are ruled, and who holds admin. It is also how you keep a settlement standing rather than losing it whenever a host closes the game.
