SAND
SAND: Raiders of Sophie is a PvPvE extraction game set on a fallen planet in an alternate 1910. Your vehicle is a Trampler, a walking mech fortress you build from modules, which can be armoured into a rolling stronghold, stacked with turrets or stripped down for speed. Expeditions drop you into a procedurally generated desert to scavenge ruined cities, shipwrecks and wrecks for loot, weapons and artefacts, dodge or fight the supernatural Upiors and rival raiders, then reach an extraction point and haul the spoils back to the orbital station. You can go alone or run with a crew.
Extraction play lives or dies on session quality, so where the server sits matters. Hosting your own SAND server puts the match near your group instead of wherever matchmaking decides, and gives a crew or community a consistent place to run expeditions together with control over who is in the lobby. For a game where a bad connection can cost you a full Trampler and everything on it, that is worth having.
