Soldat is the fast 2D side-view shooter that has been running online battles since 2002. Up to 32 soldiers jet across hand-built arenas with rocket boots, pick a primary and secondary from a classic arsenal of rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers and the minigun, and fight it out in Deathmatch, Pointmatch, Teammatch, Capture the Flag, Rambomatch, Infiltration and Hold the Flag. Movement is the whole game: bunny-hopping, prone shooting and backflips separate a good player from a target.

Your own Soldat server lets your clan practice capture runs, host league matches or just keep a friendly deathmatch going without waiting on public servers. You set the server name, password, player slots, game mode, score and time limits, friendly fire, and the realistic and survival variants, and the map rotation switches to the right maps for the mode on its own. Your admin password works in game with /adminlog and in the Soldat Admin program.

Our control panel will give you a live console for server commands such as changing the map or adding bots, full file access for your own map lists, maps and scripts, and enterprise-grade DDoS protection. Servers will list in the in-game server browser and check Steam for a newer server build on every restart.

Soldat has been free on Steam for Windows since April 2020, when the Steam release brought the 1.7.1 update to a whole new player base. Anyone can download it and join your server, and the game runs on almost any PC.
