About
Subsistence
Subsistence is a first person open world survival sandbox from solo developer ColdGames, playable alone or in co-op. You start with nothing in a forested wilderness, then work through changing seasons and a day and night cycle to gather resources, cook food, farm crops, raise animals and mine ore. Progress runs through a base technology tree that unlocks better crafting, weapon upgrades and a central power grid that every placed item draws from. The world is shared with AI Hunters who build and defend bases of their own, so you can raid them for loot or brace for their attacks on your compound.
Because Subsistence bases are fed by a power economy and refined materials that accumulate over many hours, the world needs to keep ticking whether or not the host is at their desk. A dedicated Subsistence server takes the world off one player's machine, so crops keep growing, refineries keep working and your group can log in on their own schedule. It also puts you in charge of the base access list, letting you decide exactly who can open your doors and use your workbenches rather than relying on whoever happens to be online.
Game Host Bros will run Subsistence servers on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X and EPYC processors with NVMe storage. Our control panel will provide full file access so you can edit server settings, adjust Hunter difficulty and manage backups directly, and enterprise grade DDoS protection is included with every plan. Free migrations are available if you are moving an existing world from another host, and there are 15 global locations to choose from so you can place the server near your players.
Subsistence is sold on Steam in Early Access for Windows and has been updated steadily since its 2016 launch. It supports both PvE co-op and PvP play, with Steam achievements, controller support and a base permission system for managing who joins your settlement.
Game Host Bros will offer Subsistence server hosting from $9.99/mo. Renting a Subsistence server gets you a world that stays online between sessions, full configuration control from the panel, instant setup and 15 global server locations.
