The Front is an open world survival crafting sandbox from Samar Studio. You play a resistance fighter sent back through time to break a tyrannical empire, scavenging a war torn map for resources, researching technology, and building shelters that hold up against mutants, exiles and rival players. Bases are defended with tower defence style traps and logic circuits, while the vehicle assembly system lets you bolt chassis, engines, armour and weapons together into your own combat rig. Tanks and helicopters are drivable, and the game runs both co-op and PvP servers.
Territory in The Front only means something if it is still there tomorrow. On a dedicated server, your base, traps, vehicles and stored loot persist through the week rather than vanishing when a host closes the game, which is what makes raid planning and long research projects worthwhile. Server owners choose PvP or PvE, decide whether players can damage themselves or their own squad, and manage the admin list, so a private group of friends and a large public PvP community can run entirely different rulesets on the same game.
