How To Connect To Your Battlefield Vietnam Server

Here is how you can join your Battlefield Vietnam dedicated server. Your server runs version 1.21, so players need the 1.21 patch.

Your gameCan join?
Battlefield Vietnam 1.21 with the OpenSpy patchYes, and sees the server in the browser
Battlefield Vietnam 1.21Yes, by IP address
Older than 1.21No, update your game first

To join a modded server, players need that mod installed too.

Connecting From the Server Browser

GameSpy shut down in 2014, so the game's server browser needs the OpenSpy patch. Follow this guide to replace BfVietnam.exe with the patched one, which shows the servers listed on OpenSpy, including yours.

  1. 1
Open Battlefield Vietnam and go to Multiplayer > Internet.
  2. 2
Wait for the list to load, then find your server name. Click a column header to sort if the list is long.
  3. 3
Double-click your server to join. If you set a server password, enter it when asked.

Note

It can take a few minutes for a new server to appear in the server browser after it starts.

Connecting With the IP Address

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your Battlefield Vietnam server.
  2. 2
Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page, for example 123.45.67.89:15567.
  3. 3
Make a shortcut to BfVietnam.exe in your Battlefield Vietnam folder.
  4. 4
Right-click the shortcut, choose Properties and add +restart 1 +joinServer 123.45.67.89:15567 with your own IP and port to the end of Target.
  5. 5
Start the game from the shortcut.

If your server has a password, also add +password yourpassword. For a server playing the WWII mod, add +game bfv_ww2mod, or +game with the folder name of any other mod.
