How To Add Packages To Your Just Cause 3 Multiplayer Server

JC3MP game modes and features are made of packages. A new server runs the official freeroam mode with chat and a spawn menu. Here's how to add your own packages.

Caution

As soon as the packages folder contains any package, your server loads only the packages in that folder and stops running the built-in freeroam mode. To keep freeroam, copy it in first as shown below.

Keeping Freeroam and Adding Packages

Packages are folders, so these steps use SFTP. See uploading files to connect with FileZilla.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
Connect to your server over SFTP and open data/example-server-packages.
  3. 3
Download the chat, freeroam and spawn-menu folders to your computer.
  4. 4
Open the packages folder on your server and upload those three folders into it.
  5. 5
Upload each of your own packages as its own folder next to them, for example packages/my-mode.
  6. 6
    Start your server.

Each package folder has a package.json file. Packages that players need on their side keep those files in a client_package folder inside the package, and players download them automatically when they join.

Going Back to Freeroam Only

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Open the packages folder and delete every folder inside it.
  4. 4
    Start your server.

Tip

Check your server console after starting. Each package that loads prints a Package '...' loaded. line, and a package with an error says what went wrong.
