Here's how to download and play a custom map on your Rust server. You can find custom maps from a website such as lone.design.
Before proceeding do the following:
- In the contents of your downloaded map folder, find its
.mapfile. - Upload the
.mapfile to Dropbox. - On Dropbox, select your uploaded
.mapfile, then select Share > Settings > Anyone with the link can view. Then clickCreate and copy link, and save this link for later.
Installing Oxide And RustEdit
Oxide is a modding framework, and RustEdit is a required extension for further customization of Rust maps, your server must have these installed to play Custom Maps.
- 1Download RustEdit and extract the downloaded archive.

Stopyour Rust server. - 3Go to
File Manager. - 4

Startup Parameters. - 6Under
Modding Frameworksselectoxideoroxide-staging. - 7Start your server.

Installing A Custom Map
After installing Oxide and RustEdit, here's how to add a custom map to your Rust server.
- 1Log into the Game Host Bros Panel and
Stopyour Rust server. - 2In the sidebar, go to
Startup Parameters. - 3Find
Custom Map URL. - 4Paste in the Dropbox download URL to your
.mapfile, in the URL make suredl=0is set todl=1. - 5Start your server.
Make sure to select your .map file on Dropbox, then select Share > Settings > Anyone with the link can view.
In your download URL ensure dl=0 is set to dl=1.
Ensure your download URL directly downloads only the required .map file.
