Portal Knights is a 3D sandbox action RPG from Keen Games, the studio that went on to make Enshrouded, published by 505 Games. The world of Elysia has been shattered by the Fracture and threatened by the Hollow King, and you set out to restore it as a Warrior, Mage or Ranger, with the Rogue and Druid classes available as DLC. Levelling up unlocks new talents, combat plays out in real time and rewards reading each enemy's strengths and weaknesses, and ancient portals carry you across dozens of randomly generated islands full of caves, lakes, dungeons and Greatbeast bosses. Between fights you gather materials to craft gear and build almost anything, from a small cottage to a full castle on your own private island, then fill it with the NPCs you meet on your quests.
Up to four players can adventure together in online co-op, and a dedicated Portal Knights server keeps that shared universe available when the person who started it logs off. Your universe, its islands and everything built on them stay on the server, so the group can keep working on the same castle across evenings and time zones.
