FOUNDRY is a first person factory builder set in an infinite, procedurally generated voxel world, developed by Channel 3 Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. You land on an unexplored planet, start by mining and harvesting resources yourself, and work up to a fully automated robot production complex: conveyor networks, pipes, power management, research tiers and interplanetary trade. The grid based construction has no height or depth limits, so factories stretch from deep underground to the sky, and the whole thing can be built solo or with others in online co-op.

Factory games are measured in weeks, not evenings, and a build that large deserves a machine that stays online between sessions. A dedicated FOUNDRY server keeps the production chain and the world save in one place, so partners can join at different hours, pick up the belt run somebody else left half finished, and expand the base without coordinating who has to be online to host. It also keeps the save off a personal PC, which matters once a few hundred hours of layout work is riding on it.
