How To Connect To Your Battlefield 2142 Server

Here is how you can join your Battlefield 2142 dedicated server. GameSpy, which ran the original server list and player accounts, shut down in 2014. OpenSpy replaced it, and your server reports to OpenSpy.

What you needWhy
Battlefield 2142 patched to 1.51Your server runs 1.51, and older versions can't join. EA App and Origin copies already are; a copy installed from DVD, Deluxe Edition included, needs the 1.51 update
The free BF2142 Hub with the OpenSpy patchesThey bring back the server list and online accounts
An unmodded gameYour server runs the standard maps, so you don't need a map pack or mods

Getting Online

  1. 1
Install BF2142 Hub, made by the Reclamation team, and run it as administrator.
  2. 2
In the Redirects drop-down, select OpenSpy and click Install.
  3. 3
Start the game from the Hub and log in with your OpenSpy account, or click CREATE NEW ACCOUNT on the login screen to make one. OpenSpy stores account passwords as plain text, so use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Connecting From the Server List

  1. 1
    Go to MULTIPLAY > ONLINE.
  2. 2
In the ADVANCED tab, untick every filter and click UPDATE LIST. With the filters on, the list often stays empty.
  3. 3
Find your server name in the list.
  4. 4
Double-click your server to join. If you set a server password, enter it when asked.

Note

It can take a few minutes for a new server to appear in the list after it starts.

Connecting With the IP Address

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your Battlefield 2142 server.
  2. 2
Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page, for example 123.45.67.89:17567.
  3. 3
In the game, go to MULTIPLAY > ONLINE, open the ADVANCED tab and click CONNECT TO IP.
  4. 4
Enter your server IP and port, then click OK.
