When a player joins without one of your custom maps or mods, Call of Duty 2 downloads it from your server, which is slow. A download redirect sends players to a web server for those files instead, which is much faster.
Setting Up A Download Redirect
- 1Upload your custom
.iwdfiles to a web host, keeping the same folder layout as on your server, for examplemain/mp_mymap.iwd. - 2Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
- 3In the sidebar, go to
Settings. - 4Under
Modding, findDownload Redirect URLand enter the web address of the top folder, for examplehttp://files.example.com/cod2. - 5Click
Save & Restartto apply your changes.
To send files from your server again, clear the Download Redirect URL field and click Save & Restart.
Note
zPAM uses its own download redirect when this field is empty, so you don't need to set one up for it.
