How to Change Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server Map

Here's how to change the map on your Left 4 Dead 2 server.

Uploading Your Custom Map

Maps are commonly found from public FastDL repositories or sites such as GameBanana. Your server will need to be restarted so our FastDL system can automatically sync your added files. This is required, as these files will not be served to connecting users until a sync is completed.

    Log in to the Game Host Bros Panel and stop your Left 4 Dead 2 server.

    Using SFTP, upload your map.bsp to left4dead2/maps.
  3. 3
    Start your server.

Changing Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server Default Map

    Log in to the Game Host Bros Panel and select your Left 4 Dead 2 server.

    In the sidebar, go to Startup Parameters.

    Find the Default Map setting and enter your desired map.

    Restart your server.
Did you know?

You can also change maps while your server is running. Simply type map mapname into your server console.
