EA shut down the official Bad Company 2 servers in December 2023. Your server is listed on Project Rome, the community replacement by Venice Unleashed, so players join through it. Here is how to set up the game and find your server.

Setting Up Project Rome
- 1Make sure Bad Company 2 is updated to the latest patch (R11). Copies from Steam and the EA app already are.
- 2Create a free account on Venice Unleashed.
- 3Download Project Rome from the Project Rome page and unzip it.
- 4Copy
dinput8.dllinto your Bad Company 2 folder, next toBFBC2Game.exe. - 5Start the game and log in with your Venice Unleashed account.
Connecting From the Server Browser
- 1In the game, go to
Multiplayerand open the server browser. - 2Search for your server name. Your server is listed under the region set in Server Region.
- 3Select your server and click
Join. If you set a server password, enter it when asked.
Note
It can take a few minutes for a new server to appear after it starts. Ranked servers show in the normal list; unranked and hardcore servers show when your filters include them.
