How To Upload A Save To Your Colony Survival Server

Here is how to upload an existing save from your local PC to your Colony Survival server.

If you get stuck at any time, Game Host Bros offers free save transfers. Just reach out to a bro on Discord.

Note

If the save you upload is a singleplayer save, your character won't keep its inventory when you connect, singleplayer characters don't carry over to a dedicated server. Co-op saves aren't affected, your character and items come with you as normal.

Finding Your Save

Save folders live inside the game's own install folder, not in your Documents or AppData.

  1. 1
Open your Steam Library, right-click Colony Survival, and select Manage → Browse Local Files, then open the gamedata\savegames folder. Alternatively, navigate directly to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Colony Survival\gamedata\savegames

  2. 2
Copy the folder for the world you want to upload, for example ghbworld.

Note

If you have Steam Cloud enabled, your saves are inside _cloud\ under a numbered folder instead, for example savegames\_cloud\146075927\ghbworld. This is still a local folder on your PC, not the Steam Cloud storage itself, just where the game keeps cloud-synced saves.
