How To Connect To Your Freelancer Server

Here is how you can join your Freelancer dedicated server. Players need the same version of the game as your server, so check which Mod your server runs before connecting.

Server ModWhat players need
vanillaFreelancer with the official 1.1 update installed. Players on version 1.0 can't join.
discoveryDiscovery installed and started through the Discovery Launcher, so it's on the latest patch.
crossfireCrossfire 2.0.1 installed.

Caution

Your server runs Freelancer 1.1. If you're playing vanilla and haven't installed the 1.1 update, your game won't see or join the server.

Connecting From the Server List

  1. 1
    Open Freelancer and click Multiplayer.
  2. 2
Find your server name in the server list. Use the search or sort by name if the list is long.
  3. 3
Select your server and click Connect.
  4. 4
If you set a server password, enter it when asked.

Note

It can take a few minutes for a new server to appear in the server list after it starts.

Connecting With the IP Address

If your server doesn't show in the list, you can add it to the game directly.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your Freelancer server.
  2. 2
Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page, for example 123.45.67.89:2302.
  3. 3
Right-click your Freelancer shortcut and open Properties.
  4. 4
At the end of the Target field, add a space and then -s followed by your IP and port, for example -s123.45.67.89:2302.
  5. 5
Click OK, start Freelancer with that shortcut and click Multiplayer. Your server is now at the top of the list.
