How To Connect To Your Windrose Server

There are two ways to join your Windrose server: connecting directly via its IP address, or using your server's invite code.

We recommend enabling and using Direct IP Connections rather than invite codes. You may only use one method at a time.

Connecting With a Direct IP Recommended

Direct IP connections are disabled by default as they require a server restart to enable. Enable them under Settings first, then restart your server to connect.

    Log in to Bropanel and select your server.

    In the sidebar, go to Settings, under Advanced, set Enable Direct IP Connections to true.

    Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

    Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page.

    Open Windrose and click Play > Connect to server.

    Select the Direct IP tab and paste your server IP into the IP address field, enter your server port in the Port field, and click Connect via IP.

Example: If your server IP is 198.137.23.46:7777, it should look like this:

198.137.23.46
7777

Note

When Direct IP Connections are enabled, Invite Codes are no longer used.

Connecting With an Invite Code

Invite codes are used when Direct IP Connections are disabled, here's how to join your server using an Invite Code.

    Log in to Bropanel and select your Windrose server.

    In the sidebar, go to Files.

    Navigate to the R5 folder, open the ServerDescription.json file, and copy your server's InviteCode.

    Open Windrose and click Play > Connect to server.
  5. 5
    Search for your server's InviteCode, and once found click Connect to join your server.

Tip

You can set a custom invite code under Settings by editing the Server Invite Code field, once set restart your server from Console to apply your change. The invite code must be a minimum of 8 characters.
