There are two ways to join your Windrose server: connecting directly via its IP address, or using your server's invite code.
We recommend enabling and using Direct IP Connections rather than invite codes. You may only use one method at a time.
Connecting With a Direct IP Recommended
Direct IP connections are disabled by default as they require a server restart to enable. Enable them under Server Options first, then restart your server to connect.
- 1Access the Game Host Bros Panel and
Stopyour Windrose server. - 2Go to
Server Options, underAdvanced, setEnable Direct IP Connectionstotrue. - 3Restart your server from
Consoleto apply the change. - 4Copy the server IP address and port from the sidebar.
- 5Open Windrose and click
Play > Connect to server. - 6Select the
Direct IPtab and paste your server IP into theIP addressfield, enter your server port in thePortfield, and clickConnect via IP.
Example: If your server IP is 198.137.23.46:7777, it should look like this:
198.137.23.46
7777
When Direct IP Connections are enabled, Invite Codes are no longer used.
Connecting With an Invite Code
Invite codes are used when Direct IP Connections are disabled, here's how to join your server using an Invite Code.
- 1Access the Game Host Bros Panel and select your Windrose server.
- 2In the sidebar, go to
File Manager. - 3Navigate to the
R5folder, open theServerDescription.jsonfile, and copy your server'sInviteCode. - 4Open Windrose and click
Play > Connect to server. - 5Search for your server's
InviteCode, and once found clickConnectto join your server.
You can set a custom invite code under Server Options by editing the Server Invite Code field, once set restart your server from Console to apply your change. The invite code must be a minimum of 8 characters.
