How To Install Mods On Your Wreckfest Server

Here is how you can install Steam Workshop mods such as track packs and cars on your Wreckfest server.

Players need the same mods enabled in Wreckfest's Mods menu to join your server.

Getting Your Wreckfest Mod Files

You can view all the Wreckfest mods here. Once you find a mod you want, click Subscribe, then launch Wreckfest once so Steam downloads it. Let's use this mod for example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1434454065

Subscribed mods are stored on your PC in folders named after their Workshop ID, so this mod's folder is 1434454065.

  1. 1
Press Windows Key + R and paste this:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\228380

If Wreckfest is installed in a different Steam library, open steamapps\workshop\content\228380 in that library instead.
  2. 2
Select the mod folders you want and compress them into a .zip file.
  3. 3
Note down each folder name. These are the numbers you'll need later.

Uploading Mods To Your Server

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
In the root folder, create a folder named mods and open it.
  4. 4
Upload your .zip file here, then decompress it. Files larger than 1GB need to be uploaded using SFTP.
  5. 5
Go back to the root folder and open server_config.cfg, then find the line #mods=example,my_mod.
  6. 6
Replace that line with your mod folder names, separated by commas with no spaces:
    mods=1434454065,1921355980

  7. 7
Click save and start your server.
  8. 8
Once your server has started, restart it again. Wreckfest loads the mod list from its previous start, so new mods are only active after the second start.

Folder names in the mods= line must match the folders in mods exactly, including upper and lower case.

The example below uses the mods Fun Tracks and Stadium Truck Tracks.

Starting On A Modded Track

Each track's ID is the file name, without .evse, inside the mod's data/property/event folder. For example, Fun Tracks has funtracks_bugdirt.evse, so its track ID is funtracks_bugdirt.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
Under Event, edit Track and enter your track ID, for example funtracks_bugdirt.
  4. 4
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.
