About
Q4
Quake 4 is the sci-fi shooter Raven Software developed with id Software and Activision published in October 2005. It continues the Strogg war from Quake II on id Tech 4, and its multiplayer goes back to arena roots: fast movement, strafe jumping, the railgun, rocket launcher and lightning gun, and item control on tight maps. Patches added the Raven and id map packs, the napalm gun, Buy Mode and the DeadZone game type, alongside Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Tourney, Capture the Flag and Arena CTF.
A dedicated Quake 4 server is how duel players, CTF teams and old-school communities keep playing. It stays online around the clock with your own name, password and map rotation, so your group can jump in whenever they like. You pick the game type and the maps, set the frag, time and capture limits, choose warmup, friendly fire and Buy Mode, and run custom maps and mods.
Game Host Bros will run Quake 4 servers on AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processors with NVMe storage across 14 global server locations. Servers will use id Software's official Linux dedicated server at version 1.4.2, the final release, with every official map pack included, and will list on the Quake 4 master server so your server shows in the in-game browser. Game type, map, rotation and limits will all be set from simple settings in our control panel, with full file access for custom maps, mods and your own server config.
Your server will need the Quake 4 game files, which you can upload from your own copy as the disc images or the game folder, or add with a download link. Players will join with Quake 4 patched to 1.4.2, which the Steam version already is, and missing custom maps will download straight from your server. Enterprise-grade DDoS protection will keep your matches online.
Game Host Bros will offer Quake 4 server hosting from $7.99/mo. Rent a Quake 4 dedicated server for your clan or community and you get instant setup, automatic backups, full file access and 14 global locations to keep ping low.
