How To Add Admins In Abiotic Factor

Managing player permissions--including granting administrative privileges or banning players is essential for maintaining a healthy gaming environment. Abiotic Factor uses an Admin Password, or a file called Admin.ini to handle player permissions.

Using An Admin Password Recommended

    Access the Game Host Bros Panel and Stop your Abiotic Factor server.

    In the sidebar go to Startup Parameters.
  3. 3
    Under Basic, set an Admin Password then Restart your server.
  4. 4
    Connect to your server.
  5. 5
    Press Esc to open the menu and select Player Management.
  6. 6
    Click Admin and enter your Admin Password.

Setting Yourself As An Admin In Abiotic Factor

This method can be used as an alternative to setting an Admin password.

    Access the Game Host Bros Panel and Stop your Abiotic Factor server.

    In the sidebar click on File Manager.
  3. 3
    Navigate to the AbioticFactor/Saved/SaveGames/Server/ folder.
  4. 4
    Here, find the file named Admin.ini.
  5. 5
    Add a new entry on its own line in SteamID64 format. It should look like this: 
    [Moderators]
Moderator=76561198106341655

    Restart your server.

Access the Admin Menu

After setting yourself as admin, here's how to open the Abiotic Factor admin menu.

    Connect to your Abiotic Factor server.

    Press Esc to open the menu.

    Click Admin.
