How To Connect To Your Far Cry 2 Server

Ubisoft shut down Far Cry 2's online services in 2021. Your server goes online through the Longweep Project, the community replacement, so players join with the free community patch, FC2MPPatcher, and a free Longweep account. Here is how to set up the game and find your server.

Setting Up The Game

  1. 1
Make sure Far Cry 2 is version 1.03; the version shows in the top-left corner of the main menu. If yours is older, install patch 1.03 from the Multiplayer patch page on fc2mp.com.
  2. 2
If your copy is from Steam or Ubisoft Connect (formerly Uplay), download Login_fix_files.zip from the same page. Copy its bin/Dunia.dll into your game's bin folder, and its Data_Win32/patch.fat and Data_Win32/patch.dat into your game's Data_Win32 folder, replacing the files there. Do this before installing the patch, or the game can't log in.
  3. 3
Close Far Cry 2, then download the latest FC2MPPatcher, unzip it anywhere and run fc2mppatcher.exe as administrator.
  4. 4
Check the game folder the patcher found, click Install patch and wait until the button changes to Uninstall patch, then close the patcher.
  5. 5
Register a free Longweep account and confirm it from the email you receive.
  6. 6
Start Far Cry 2, go to Multiplayer and Online, and create an online profile with the same user name and password as your Longweep account.

Joining Your Server

  1. 1
In Far Cry 2, go to Multiplayer and Online, and log in with your online profile.
  2. 2
Choose Player Match, then Join Custom Match.
  3. 3
Find your server by its name in the match list and join it. If you set a server password, enter it when asked.

Note

To play the Fortune's Pack maps, players need the Fortune's Pack. Steam, GOG and Ubisoft Connect copies already include it, and players with a disc copy can download it from fc2mp.com. Players who don't have a custom map download it from your server when they join.
