How To Add Custom Maps To Your Far Cry 2 Server

Custom maps for Far Cry 2 are .fc2map files made with the game's map editor, which saves them on your PC in Documents/My Games/Far Cry 2/user maps. Your server plays them from its own user maps folder, and players who don't have a map download it from your server when they join.

Adding A Custom Map

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
    Navigate to user maps/.
  4. 4
    Upload the map's .fc2map file.
  5. 5
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  6. 6
Under Gameplay, edit Map Cycle and add the map's file name, for example MyMap.fc2map, separated from the other maps by semicolons.
  7. 7
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

The user maps folder appears after your server's first start. Map Cycle only plays the maps it lists, so also add the original maps you still want, for example mp_01_dirtywork;MyMap.fc2map. See Map Cycle for their ids.

Note

Pick maps made for your server's game mode. A map built only for Deathmatch, for example, has no diamond bases for Capture the Diamond.
