How To Install Packages On Your Onset Server

Everything players do on an Onset server comes from packages: folders of Lua scripts, web UI files and assets in the server's packages folder. Your server comes with Onset's example packages, and you can add community game modes or your own scripts.

Caution

The bundled zeus admin package is uploaded but not loaded. Its dev mode is on by default, which makes every player an admin. Before you add it to your packages, open packages/zeus/server/io/config.lua and set dev-mode to false once you have made yourself an admin.

Uploading a Package

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
    Open the packages folder.
  4. 4
Upload the package folder. Its index.lua or package.json must sit directly inside it, for example packages/mygamemode/index.lua.
  5. 5
    Start your server.

Choosing Which Packages Load

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
Under Modding, edit Packages and list the package folder names to load, separated by commas, for example default, mygamemode.
  4. 4
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

Packages start in the order you list them, so put packages other packages depend on first. Leave Packages empty to use the packages list in server_config.json instead, which you can edit from the Files page.

Tip

Packages that store data in a MySQL or MariaDB database use the mariadb plugin, which your server already loads. Enter your database details in the package's own config.
