How To Install Skyrim Together Reborn With Mod Organizer 2

Every player needs Skyrim Together Reborn installed to join your Skyrim Together server. Here's the quickest way to set it up with Mod Organizer 2 (MO2). For Vortex and troubleshooting, see the developers' client setup guide. You'll need Skyrim Special Edition on Steam and a free Nexus Mods account.

Caution

Remove or disable any other mods. The Skyrim Together developers recommend playing with no other mods, so anything else is at your own risk. Finish the Helgen intro before you connect to a server, or your save may break.

Preparing Skyrim

    In Steam, right-click The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and select Properties.

    Go to DLC and untick The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Upgrade. If there's no DLC tab, you don't own it.

    Launch Skyrim from Steam once, then exit at the main menu.

Installing Mod Organizer 2

    Download Mod Organizer 2 with Manual Download and run the installer.

    Keep the default install folder, C:\Modding\MO2.

    Open MO2, click Next, select Create a portable instance, then select Skyrim Special Edition.

    Click Next, then Connect to Nexus and Authorize in your browser.

    Click Finish. Select No when asked to show the tutorial, and Yes when asked to handle nxm links.

Creating a Profile

    In MO2, click the Configure profiles icon in the top menu.

    Click Create and name it Skyrim Together Reborn.

    Disable Use profile-specific Game INI files, then click No on the popup.

    Select your new profile and click Select.

Removing the Creation Club Content

Skyrim comes with four Creation Club items that make Skyrim Together crash more often, so remove them. Old saves made with them may no longer load.

    Close MO2.

    Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\.

    Delete these files:
    • ccBGSSSE001-Fish.bsa
    • ccBGSSSE001-Fish.esm
    • ccBGSSSE025-AdvDSGS.bsa
    • ccBGSSSE025-AdvDSGS.esm
    • ccBGSSSE037-Curios.bsa
    • ccBGSSSE037-Curios.esl
    • ccQDRSSE001-SurvivalMode.bsa
    • ccQDRSSE001-SurvivalMode.esl

Steam downloads them again after a Skyrim update or Verify integrity of game files, so delete them again when that happens.

Installing Skyrim Together Reborn

    Open MO2.

    On the Address Library for SKSE Plugins page, click Mod Manager Download on All in one.

    On the Skyrim Together Reborn page, click Mod Manager Download on Skyrim Together Reborn, then Download.

    In MO2, open the Downloads tab on the right. Right-click each mod and select Install.

    For Skyrim Together Reborn, close the warning, click OK, then Ignore.

    Tick both mods in the list on the left.

Adding the Launch Option

    In MO2, click the dropdown next to Run and select <Edit...>.

    Select Skyrim Special Edition, click the + icon, then Clone selected.

    Rename the copy to Skyrim Together Reborn.

    Next to Binary, click ... and select C:\Modding\MO2\mods\Skyrim Together Reborn\SkyrimTogetherReborn\SkyrimTogether.exe.

    Click OK, then select Skyrim Together Reborn in the dropdown.

Launching Skyrim Together

    In MO2, click Run.

    When it asks for Skyrim's executable, select SkyrimSE.exe and click Open.

    If an Address Library error shows, click Close, then click Run again.

    Start a New game and play through Helgen until you're out of the cave.
  5. 5
    Connect to your server.
