Terraria Difficulties
Journey Mode is an easier difficulty that gives players bonus items at the start, allows duplicating items, and lets you adjust the game's difficulty settings. This mode is perfect for creative building and experimentation.
Classic Mode (also called Normal Mode) is the standard Terraria gameplay experience with balanced difficulty suitable for most players.
Expert Mode is intended for experienced players and features the same enemies with increased stats and altered AI behavior patterns that make them more challenging to defeat. As a reward, bosses drop exclusive Treasure Bags containing special Expert-only items alongside normal loot, and overall loot drops are more frequent.
Master Mode is a harder version of Expert Mode with the same AI patterns but significantly increased enemy health and damage. This difficulty includes two additional unique drops per boss and grants all players an extra accessory slot.
