How To Connect To Your Unreal Tournament 3 Server

Here is how you can join your Unreal Tournament 3 dedicated server. Your server runs the final 2.1 patch with the Titan Pack, so your game needs the same version.

Your gameCan join?
UT3 2.1 with the Titan Pack (Unreal Tournament 3 Black on Steam, or a patched disc)Yes
UT3 2.1 with the community OpenSpy patchYes, and you can find the server in the server browser
UT3 2.0 or olderNo, update your game first

Tip

UT3 used GameSpy to list servers, and GameSpy shut down in 2014. Install the community OpenSpy patch for UT3 to log in and see servers in the in-game browser again. Joining by IP works without it.

Connecting From the Server Browser

  1. 1
Open Unreal Tournament 3 with the OpenSpy patch and log in with your OpenSpy profile.
  2. 2
    Click Multiplayer, then Join Game.
  3. 3
Pick the game type your server runs, for example Deathmatch or Warfare.
  4. 4
Find your server name in the list and double-click it to join. If you set a server password, enter it when asked.

Note

Your server only shows in the server browser once it has an OpenSpy profile. It can take a few minutes to appear after the server starts.

Connecting With the IP Address

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your Unreal Tournament 3 server.
  2. 2
Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page, for example 123.45.67.89:7777.
  3. 3
Open Unreal Tournament 3 and press the Tab key to open the console.
  4. 4
Type open 123.45.67.89:7777 with your own IP and port, then press Enter.

If your server has a password, add it to the end like this: open 123.45.67.89:7777?password=yourpassword.
