How To Configure Your ARK: Survival Ascended Server

Most of ARK: Survival Ascended's gameplay settings, such as harvesting, taming and experience rates, live in two files on your server: GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini. The ARK wiki lists every setting and its default.

Note

Server Name, Server Password, Admin Password, Max Players and PvE are set in Bropanel under Settings. Your server writes them into GameUserSettings.ini every time it starts, so edit them there instead of in the file.

Editing GameUserSettings.ini

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
    Open ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini.
  4. 4
Add or change settings one per line under the section the wiki lists for each, then save the file. Most go under the [ServerSettings] line, for example TamingSpeedMultiplier=3.0.
  5. 5
    Start your server.

Editing Game.ini

Game.ini holds the more advanced settings, such as custom levels, engram points and creature spawns.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Open ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/Game.ini. If it isn't there, create it in that folder with [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode] as its first line.
  4. 4
Add your settings under the [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode] line, then save the file.
  5. 5
    Start your server.
