Your server description shows in the server list when players select your server. The welcome message pops up when players join, so it's a good place for your server rules. Server operators edit both in game.
Editing the Description and Welcome Message

Save.
The description can be up to 350 characters and the welcome message up to 4096. Changes show straight away, without a restart.
You can format the text with tags like [b]bold[/b], [u]underlined[/u] and [color=#FF0000]red[/color]. Start a line with [*] to make it a bullet point.
Showing Your Next Wipe Date
Operators also see a Wipe information button under the description. Use it to set the date of your next planned wipe, which players see in the welcome message and the server list. It only shows the date; to wipe the world, see Reset Server.
