How To Upload An Existing CryoFall World To Your Server

Here is how you can move an existing world to your CryoFall server, from another server host or from a local game on your PC. A CryoFall world is a single .save file.

If you get stuck at any time, Game Host Bros offers free save transfers. Just reach out to a bro on Discord.

Finding Your Save File

  • From a local game: start CryoFall, click PLAY, then LOCAL GAME, and click Browse saves folder. Your worlds are named Save0.save, Save1.save and so on. Check the dates to find the one you want.
  • From another host: download Data/Saves/Save0.save from your old server.

Rename the file to Save0.save on your PC. That's the world your server loads.

Note

Your server updates itself to the newest CryoFall version, so upload a save from an up-to-date game or server. The developers don't support moving saves between major game versions, and worlds from Alpha 28 or older can't be loaded.

Uploading Your World

Caution

Uploading a world replaces the world on your server. Download a backup first if you want to keep it.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Navigate to Data/Saves/ and delete Save0.save.
  4. 4
    Upload your Save0.save file.
  5. 5
    Start your server.

Once uploaded, your server files should look like this.

Data
Saves
Save0.save

When the Console shows Savegame loaded from /home/container/Data/Saves/Save0.save, your world is running. If your server creates a new world instead, check the file name. Windows hides file extensions by default, so make sure the file isn't named Save0.save.save.
