How To Upload An Existing Valheim Save To Your Server

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of uploading a custom world file to your Valheim dedicated server.

Finding Your Save Files

Worlds aren't found in the game files; they are found in a different location which can be accessed by doing this.

    On your keyboard press Windows Key + R.

    Go to this file path 
    %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds
  3. 3
    Copy your worlds .fwl and .db files.
Note

If you have Steam Cloud disabled, use worlds_local instead of worlds.

world.fwl
world.db

Uploading Your World

    Log in to the Game Host Bros Game Panel and stop your Valheim server.

    Access your Valheim server using SFTP.
  3. 3
    Navigate to .config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim/worlds_local and upload your .fwl and .db files.

    Back in the panel, go to Startup Parameters.
  5. 5
    Edit World Name and change it to the name of your world file.
  6. 6
    Start your server.

Once uploaded, your server files should look like this.

Valheim

world.db
