How To Change The Version Of Your Valheim Server

If you don't want to play Valheim on the latest public version, and would rather play a different beta branch, here's how to change the version of your Valheim server.

Changing Steam Beta Version

Changing server versions may cause issues with your world save so make sure you always take a backup first. Additionally, consider deleting ALL files and folders in File Manager for a fresh installation. We officially only support the main, public branch of the game.

    Access the Game Host Bros Panel and Stop your server.

    In the sidebar, go to Server Options.
  3. 3
    Edit Steam Beta Branch with the branch name you want to use (a list of branch names are below).

    Go to Advanced → Server Actions.
  5. 5
    Click Reinstall Server and wait for the install to finish.
