How To Use SAPP On Your Halo Combat Evolved Server

SAPP is the server extension most Halo: Combat Evolved servers run. It adds in-game admin accounts, chat commands, Lua scripts and no-lead mode, which makes shots hit where you aim without leading your target. SAPP is on by default.

Turning SAPP On Or Off

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
Under Modding, switch SAPP on or off.
  4. 4
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

Adding An Admin

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Console.
  3. 3
Type admin_add_manually YourName yourpassword 4 with your in-game name, a password and the admin level (4 is the highest), then press Enter.

In game, type /login yourpassword in chat to log in. Admins can then run commands from chat with a / in front, for example /k 3 to kick player number 3.

Making SAPP Settings Stick

Commands typed in the console only last until the server restarts. To keep them, add them to SAPP's own startup file:

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files and open the sapp folder.
  3. 3
Open init.txt and add one command per line, for example no_lead 1.
  4. 4
    Start your server.

Note

Lua scripts go in the sapp/lua folder. Load one by adding lua_load scriptname to sapp/init.txt, and make sure lua 1 is in that file too.
