At Game Host Bros, we automatically take a backup snapshot of your Palworld save files every few hours the server is live. This means if there is a failed update or a bug, you're able to restore to a previous time, giving you access to saved data in case something goes wrong.
Entering Recovery Mode and Restoring Backups Recommended
The recommended method for restoring your Palworld server with minimal effort and risk.
- 1Log in to the Game Host Bros panel and select your Palworld server.
- 2On the left, navigate to
Startup Parameters. - 3Find the
Boot Modesetting and change it fromNormaltoRecovery Mode. - 4Go back to the server console and start your server.
- 5Look for the time you want to restore from and enter a number into the console to restore that backup.
- 6Change the server
Boot Modeback toNormaland restart your server.
Manual Backup Restoration Guide
For advanced users who need direct control over the restoration process or when Recovery Mode is unavailable.
- 1Download the backup you want to restore from
Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/[Your Save File]/backup/worldand extract the downloaded file. - 2Log in to the Game Host Bros panel and stop your Palworld server.
- 3In the Game Host Bros panel go to
File Manager. - 4Once there, navigate to
Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/. - 5You will see a folder with a random number like 723687123871537817253. You need to copy your existing world data into that folder.
If you have lots of player files, you may want to upload the files using SFTP.
