How to Restore Palworld Server Backups - Automatic Backup Guide

At Game Host Bros, we automatically take a backup snapshot of your Palworld save files every few hours the server is live. This means if there is a failed update or a bug, you're able to restore to a previous time, giving you access to saved data in case something goes wrong.

The recommended method for restoring your Palworld server with minimal effort and risk.

  1. 1
Log in to the Game Host Bros panel and select your Palworld server.
  2. 2
On the left, navigate to Startup Parameters.
  3. 3
Find the Boot Mode setting and change it from Normal to Recovery Mode.
  4. 4
Go back to the server console and start your server.
  5. 5
Look for the time you want to restore from and enter a number into the console to restore that backup.
  6. 6
Change the server Boot Mode back to Normal and restart your server.

Manual Backup Restoration Guide

For advanced users who need direct control over the restoration process or when Recovery Mode is unavailable.

  1. 1
Download the backup you want to restore from Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/[Your Save File]/backup/world and extract the downloaded file.
  2. 2
Log in to the Game Host Bros panel and stop your Palworld server.
  3. 3
In the Game Host Bros panel go to File Manager.
  4. 4
    Once there, navigate to Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/.
  5. 5
You will see a folder with a random number like 723687123871537817253. You need to copy your existing world data into that folder.

If you have lots of player files, you may want to upload the files using SFTP.
