How To Connect Your Quake Live Server To QLStats

QLStats tracks Quake Live matches and gives every player an Elo rating for each game mode. Connecting your Quake Live server lets players see their ratings with !elos and helps MinQLX balance teams.

QLStats reads your server's stats feed. Stats are already turned on for every Game Host Bros Quake Live server and use the same port as your game, so you only need to set a password and add your server on QLStats.

Setting A Stats Password

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Open the baseq3 folder, then open server.cfg.
  4. 4
Add set zmq_stats_password "yourstatspassword" to the end of the file. If there is already a zmq_stats_password line, change its value instead.
  5. 5
Save the file and Start your server.

Use a password you don't use anywhere else, made of only letters and numbers. QLStats can reject passwords with symbols in them.

Adding Your Server To QLStats

  1. 1
Copy your server IP and port from the Overview page in Bropanel, for example 192.168.1.100:27960.
  2. 2
Open the QLStats server admin panel. If it says the panel is full, use panel 2, panel 3 or panel 4.
  3. 3
    Click Add Server.
  4. 4
Enter a name for yourself in Owner, your stats password in both password fields, and your server IP and port in Server Address.
  5. 5
    Click Submit.

Your server shows as connected in the list once QLStats can reach it, and matches count toward ratings from then on. If it shows bad password, check that the password on QLStats matches the one in your server.cfg.

Note

QLStats needs the numbered IP address, like 192.168.1.100:27960. If your Overview page shows a web address, use the IP address instead. When you add more servers under the same owner, use the stats password of your first server.

Player Ratings In Game

With MinQLX enabled, the balance plugin uses QLStats ratings. It's in the default MinQLX Plugins list, see our install plugins guide.
