How To Set A Password On Your Quake Live Server

A server password keeps your Quake Live server private, so only players who know it can join.

Setting A Password

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
Under Basic, edit Server Password and enter the password you want.
  4. 4
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

The password can be up to 20 characters and can't contain spaces or double quotes. Players are asked for it when they join from the server browser. To join from the console instead, type /set password "yourpassword" first and then connect as usual.

To make your server public again, clear the Server Password field and click Save & Restart.

Note

Server Password overrides the g_password line in server.cfg, so always set your password in Settings. If you only want to keep a few slots for your friends, use reserved slots instead.
