How To Change Warmup Settings On Your Quake Live Server

Matches on your Quake Live server start with a warmup, and the match begins once enough players ready up. You can change how many players need to be ready, force the match to start after a delay, and kick players who go idle.

Changing Warmup Settings

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and Stop your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Open the baseq3 folder, then open server.cfg.
  4. 4
Find the setting you want to change from the table below and edit its value. If the line isn't in the file, add it at the end.
  5. 5
Save the file and Start your server.
SettingDefaultWhat it does
sv_warmupReadyPercentage0.51How many players must be ready before the match starts, from 0 to 1. 1 means everyone.
g_warmupDelay15Seconds to wait before a match can start, so everyone has time to connect.
g_warmupReadyDelay0Seconds after someone readies up before the match is forced to start. 0 never forces it.
g_warmupReadyDelayAction1What happens to players who aren't ready when the match is forced to start. 1 moves them to spectator, 2 readies them up.
g_inactivity0Seconds a player can be idle before they are kicked. 0 turns it off.

These values work well for duel servers. The match waits for both players to ready up. If one of them doesn't, the match starts a minute after the other player readied up, and anyone idle for 10 minutes is kicked.

set sv_warmupReadyPercentage "1"
set g_warmupReadyDelay "60"
set g_warmupReadyDelayAction "2"
set g_inactivity "600"

Note

Factories can override these settings for their game mode. If a value doesn't change after a restart, check the factory you are playing, following our custom game factories guide.
