How To List Your SCP: Secret Laboratory Server Publicly

Only servers verified by Northwood Studios appear in the SCP: Secret Laboratory server list. Until yours is verified, players join it with Direct Connect.

Before You Apply

Verified servers must follow Northwood's Community Server Guidelines. Northwood also expects them to:

  • stay online close to all of the time. A verified server that is offline for 14 days in a row loses its verification.
  • have at most 60 player slots.
  • run on at least 2 CPU cores, 4 GB of RAM and 20 GB of storage.

Setting Your Server Details

Northwood reads these from your server's config, so set them first. Your server's port is the number after the colon in its address on the Overview page, for example 7777.

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Files.
  3. 3
Open .config/SCP Secret Laboratory/config/<port>/config_gameplay.txt, using your server's port as the folder name.
  4. 4
Set server_name to your server name.
  5. 5
Change contact_email: default to an email address Northwood can reach you at, for example contact_email: [email protected]. If the file has no contact_email line, add one. Use this same address if you ever email Northwood about your server.
  6. 6
Make a Pastebin page with your server rules and how players can contact your staff (an email address or a Discord invite). Set serverinfo_pastebin_id to the code at the end of its link, for example serverinfo_pastebin_id: AbCd1234 for pastebin.com/AbCd1234.
  7. 7
Save the file and restart your server.

Applying For Verification

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Console.
  3. 3
Type !verify static and press Enter. Your server's IP address doesn't change, so use static.

Northwood's central servers then check that they can reach your server. Once you're verified, your console shows a link to the Community Server Guidelines agreement. Open it and sign the agreement, and your server then appears in the server list. If no link appears, restart your server.

If the command doesn't work, email [email protected] from your contact_email address with your server's IP address, its port, and that the IP address is static. Northwood usually replies within 3 to 7 business days.

Tip

A verified server can hide itself from the list without losing its verification. Type !private in the console to hide it and !public to show it again.
