By default, Game Host Bros SCP: Secret Laboratory servers check for a new version of the dedicated server whenever they restart and install it, so players on the latest game version can always join. On servers running EXILED with EXILED Version set to latest, EXILED updates the same way. Your configs and plugins are kept.
Turning Automatic Updates On Or Off

Updates, enable or disableAuto Update. - 4Click
Save & Restartto apply your changes.
While Auto Update is on, your server checks for updates every time it starts, so a restart picks up a new version once Northwood releases it. With it off, your server stays on the version it has; turn it back on and restart to update. A changed Steam Beta Branch still applies on restart either way.
Plugins don't update themselves. After a big game update, check that each plugin has a version for it.
