At Game Host Bros, we automatically take a backup snapshot of your VEIN save files every hour the server is live. This means if there is a failed update or a bug you're able to restore to a previous time, giving you access to saved data in case something goes wrong.

Entering Recovery Mode and Restoring Backups Recommended

The recommended method for restoring your VEIN server with minimal effort and risk.

    Log in to the Game Host Bros Panel and Stop your VEIN server.

    In the sidebar, navigate to Server Options.
  3. 3
    Find the Boot Mode setting and change it from Normal to Recovery Mode.
  4. 4
    Go back to the server console and start your server.
  5. 5
    Look for the time you want to restore from and enter a number into the console to restore that backup.
  6. 6
    Change the server Boot Mode back to Normal and restart your server.

Manual Backup Restoration Guide

Here's how to manually restore an automatic backup of your Server.vns save file for VEIN. Backups are stored as archives and need to be extracted before restoring.

    Log in to the Game Host Bros Game Panel and Stop your VEIN server.
  2. 2
    In the sidebar, go to File Manager and download a copy of the backup you want to restore from the Backups folder in the home directory of your server. Then extract your backup archive to find the Server.vns file.

    Using SFTP navigate to Vein/Saved/SaveGames.
  4. 4
    Delete your existing Server.vns file, then upload your backups Server.vns file
  5. 5
    Start your server.
