How To Change The Game Mode On Your Quake Server

The game mode is the mode your Quake server starts in and goes back to when everyone leaves. It also sets how many player slots the server has, which the server adjusts when players switch modes. Here's how to change it.

Changing the Game Mode

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
  2. 2
In the sidebar, go to Settings.
  3. 3
    Under Gameplay, edit Game Mode.
  4. 4
Click Save & Restart to apply your changes.

In every mode except Matchless FFA, a match starts when the players type ready in the console. Extra players can join as spectators while spectator slots are free.

Switching Modes In Game

While no match is running, players switch the server to another mode by typing it in the console, for example 1on1, 4on4, ffa or ctf. The server returns to your default mode when everyone leaves.
