Console commands let you manage your Barotrauma server while it runs. Type help to see every command, or help and a command name, like help kick, to see how to use it.

How To Use Console Commands

Log in to Bropanel and select your server.

In the sidebar, go to Console.

Type your command and press Enter.

Note

Server settings changed in the console, like the server name, password or max players, reset when your server restarts. To keep a change, set it in Settings instead. Bans and admin ranks are saved.

Common Commands

Command	Description
`help`	Lists every console command.
`clientlist`	Lists the players on the server and their client IDs.
`say Hello everyone`	Sends a chat message to all players, shown as `HOST`.
`msg Hello everyone`	Sends a chat message with no sender name.
`servermsg Welcome aboard`	Changes the message shown in the server lobby.
`servername My Server`	Changes the server name.
`setpassword MyPassword`	Changes the server password.
`setmaxplayers 10`	Changes the max player count.
`startgame`	Starts a new round.
`endgame`	Ends the current round.
`gamemode mission`	Sets the game mode for the next round, by name or number (`0` is sandbox, `1` is mission).
`sub Typhon`	Sets the submarine for the next round.
`shuttle Selkie`	Sets the respawn shuttle for the next round.
`difficulty 50`	Sets the level difficulty, from `0` to `100`.
`botcount 2`	Sets how many bots join the crew.
`botspawnmode fill`	With `fill`, bots only fill the crew up to `botcount`. With `normal`, the server always adds `botcount` bots.
`autorestart true`	Turns automatic round starts on or off.
`autorestartinterval 60`	Sets how many seconds the server waits between rounds.
`startwhenclientsready true`	Starts the round once players are ready.
`seed MySeed`	Sets the level seed for the next round.
`randomizeseed`	Turns a random level seed for each round on or off.
`togglekarma`	Turns the karma system on or off.
`dumptofile`	Saves the console output to `consoleOutput.txt` in your server's files.

Player Commands

Command	Description
`kick PlayerName`	Kicks a player.
`kickid 2`	Kicks a player by their client ID from `clientlist`.
`ban PlayerName`	Bans a player.
`banid 2`	Bans a player by their client ID.
`banaddress STEAM_1:1:73037963`	Bans a player who isn't online, by their Steam ID.
`unban PlayerName`	Removes a ban by player name.
`unbanaddress STEAM_1:1:73037963`	Removes a ban by Steam ID.
`mute PlayerName`	Stops a player from using voice chat. `unmute` undoes it.

After a kick or ban command, the console asks for a reason. Ban commands then ask how long the ban lasts, like 7 d for 7 days or 2 h for 2 hours. The Bropanel console can't send an empty answer, so for a permanent ban, type 36500 d. Type each answer and press Enter, or type c to cancel.

Bans are saved to Data/bannedplayers.xml and stay after a restart. Write Steam IDs as STEAM_1:..., like in the adding admins guide. A SteamID64 like 76561198106341655 only works when written as STEAM64_76561198106341655.

Admin Commands

These work on players who are on the server, by name or client ID. Admin rights given here are saved to Data/clientpermissions.xml, so they stay after a restart.

Command	Description
`giverank PlayerName Admin`	Gives a player a rank: `Admin`, `Moderator` or `None`. For example, `giverank HurpTurp Admin` makes HurpTurp an admin.
`giveperm PlayerName`	Gives a player one permission. The console asks which one.
`revokeperm PlayerName`	Takes a permission away.
`givecommandperm PlayerName`	Lets a player use console commands. The console asks which ones. Type `all` to allow every command.
`revokecommandperm PlayerName`	Takes console command access away.
`showperm PlayerName`	Shows a player's permissions.

Cheat Commands

Type enablecheats first. Cheats stay on until your server restarts, and they turn off Steam achievements for that session.

`enablecheats`	Turns on cheat commands.
`fixhulls`	Repairs every wall.
`fixitems`	Repairs every item.
`oxygen`	Refills the oxygen in every room.
`power`	Powers up the submarine's reactor.
`killmonsters`	Kills every monster in the level.
`godmode_mainsub`	Makes the submarine take no damage.
`heal PlayerName`	Heals a player's character.
`revive PlayerName`	Brings a dead player's character back.
`money 1000`	Gives the crew money in a campaign.

LuaCs Commands

With Lua modding enabled, you also get these:

Command	Description
`lua print('hi')`	Runs a line of Lua. Use single quotes inside it.
`reloadlua`	Reloads LuaCs and every Lua mod.
