The game mode decides what happens when players die on your Don't Starve Together server:
survivalis the standard game and the default. Players who die become ghosts until someone revives them, and ghosts drain the sanity of living players. If every player is dead at the same time, the world resets after a two-minute countdown.endlessis a sandbox that never ends. Ghosts can revive themselves at the Florid Postern, the portal where players arrive, and they don't drain sanity. The world never resets, and basic resources like trees and grass grow back over time.wildernesshas no safety net. Players start at a random spot, and instead of becoming a ghost when they die, they pick a survivor and start again. The world never resets, and basic resources grow back over time.
Changing The Game Mode
- 1Log in to Bropanel and select your server.
- 2In the sidebar, go to
Settings. - 3Under
Gameplay, editGame Modeand choosesurvival,endlessorwilderness. - 4Click
Save & Restartto apply your changes.
Caution
Choose your game mode before you start playing. You can switch a survival world to endless or wilderness at any time, but the game saves those rules with the world, so switching back to survival doesn't undo them. To play survival again, start a new world: in Settings, click Reinstall in the top-right, select Format (keep settings), then confirm and wait for the install to finish. This deletes your world and server files, so download a backup first if you want to keep them.
