How To Connect To Your Far Cry Server

Here is how you can join your Far Cry dedicated server. Your server runs Far Cry 1.40, the final patch, so players need Far Cry 1.40 too. Copies from Steam, GOG and Ubisoft Connect are already on 1.40.

Far Cry's own Internet server list needed Ubisoft's online service, which shut down in 2015. Players join by IP address instead, or from the LRv3 server list when your server runs the LRv3 Server Mod.

Connecting With the IP Address

  1. 1
Log in to Bropanel and select your Far Cry server.
  2. 2
Copy the server IP address and port from the Overview page, for example 123.45.67.89:49001.
  3. 3
Open Far Cry and press the ~ key to open the console.
  4. 4
If you set a server password, type \cl_password yourpassword and press Enter.
  5. 5
Type \connect 123.45.67.89:49001 with your IP and port, then press Enter.

Far Cry console commands start with a backslash (\). Without it, the game sends what you type as a chat message while you're on a server.

Connecting With LRv3

When the LRv3 Server Mod is on, players need the LRv3 add-on, the community update most Far Cry players use online.

  1. 1
Install the FCLoader from farcrylraddon.de and start Far Cry with its LR3 button.
  2. 2
Go to Multiplayer > Internet (LR) and log in to your free LRv3 account, or create one.
  3. 3
Find your server name in the list and join. LRv3 can also join by IP address and port.

Note

Your server shows in the LRv3 list once you've added an LRv3 account in the LRv3 settings. Joining by IP works without it.
