Staff on your HighBeam server moderate players from the game. Moderators can kick, ban and mute players. Admins can do that too, plus IP bans, the whitelist, changing the map and choosing the moderators. Everyone can tell your real staff by the crown next to their name, gold for admins and silver for moderators.
Adding An Admin
- 1Join your server in the game, see Connect To Your Server.
- 2Log in to Bropanel, select your server and go to
Console. - 3Type
admin add <name>with your player name, for exampleadmin add Bob, and pressEnter.
Only the console can add admins. Once you are an admin, type /moderator add <name> in the in-game chat to make a player a moderator. admin remove <name> and moderator remove <name> take the role away again.
For a player who isn't online, use their SteamID64 or their Steam profile link instead of their name. A SteamID64 is the 17-digit number on a player's Steam Account details page, and the players command in the Console shows everyone's while they are on.
Moderating Players
Staff type commands in the in-game chat with a / in front, and the Console runs the same commands without it. In the game, staff can also click the buttons next to a player in the HighBeam player list (press Y) to kick, mute, unmute or ban them.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/kick <player> [reason] | Kicks a player |
/ban <player> [time] [reason] | Bans a player, for good without a time |
/unban <player> | Lifts a ban |
/mute <player> [time] [reason] | Stops a player from chatting and talking on voice chat |
/unmute <player> | Lets a muted player chat and talk again |
/bans, /mutes | Lists the bans or mutes |
/players | Lists the players with their ids and SteamID64s |
/staff | Lists the admins and moderators |
/ipban <player> [time] [reason] | Bans a player's network address (admins) |
/map <map> | Changes the map for everyone (admins) |
/help | Lists the commands you can use |
A [time] looks like 30m, 12h, 7d or 2w. For example, /ban Bob 7d griefing bans Bob for a week. Staff can't act on staff of their own rank or above.
Tip
The lists live in the configs folder in Files: admins.cfg, moderators.cfg, bans.cfg, mutes.cfg and ipbans.cfg, one player per line. You can edit them there too, and your server picks up a change a few seconds after you save. actions.log there records who did what, and when.
