How To Use A Whitelist On Your HighBeam Server

With the whitelist on, only the players on it and your admins and moderators can join your HighBeam server. Players are added by their Steam account, so a whitelist can't be passed on like a password.

Adding Players

Add your players before you turn the whitelist on, because once it is on only the players already on it can join. While a player is on your server, type whitelist add <name> in the Console, for example whitelist add Bob. whitelist remove <name> takes them off again. For a player who isn't online, use their SteamID64 or their Steam profile link instead of their name.

You can also open configs/whitelist.cfg in Files, put each player's SteamID64 on its own line and click Save. Your server picks up the change a few seconds later.

Tip

A SteamID64 is the 17-digit number on a player's Steam Account details page. While they are on your server, the players command in the Console shows it too.
